Dr. Bob Goldman
Dr. Bob Goldman is recognized as one of the worlds’ authorities on androgenic anabolic steroids and High-Tech sports training. He is author of the widely acclaimed book ‘Death in the Locker Room / Steroids, Cocaine and Sports,’ which has received exceptional reviews internationally as the most comprehensive text examining the effects of anabolic steroids, growth hormone, and other drugs on athletes in sports, and has merited coverage in such prestigious publications as the Journal of the American Medical Association, American Medical Association News, Time Magazine and Sports Illustrated among others. His latest book The ‘E’ Factor / Secrets of New Tech Training and Fitness for the Winning Edge is a 575 page hardcover published by William Morrow (N.Y.) and is quickly becoming the bible for the health and fitness industry. He has appeared on over 300 television and radio talk shows such as Good Morning America, ABC Sports, and numerous NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN national news broadcasts.
As an athlete, Dr. Goldman was an All-City, and All-College Athlete in track and field, wrestling, powerlifting and football, and has held over a dozen World Records in strength sports, as well as having been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for a number of his strength-sport accomplishments.
A graduate of Brooklyn College, Dr. Goldman received his medical and surgical training at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was awarded a three year Sportmedicine Research Fellowship. Prior to attending medical school, he completed three years of independent study / and research exclusively in androgenic anabolic steroids. Under his direction a team of clinical medical specialists run one of the first long term intensive studies of high dose of anabolic steroids / high protein intake on athletes at the Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center, where he is Director of the High Tech Fitness Laboratory.
Aside from the long term anabolic steroid clinical research studies, he has developed a series of long term studies examining the High-Tech fitness equipment industry, and as Chairman of American Medical Athletic Association Fitness Equipment Evaluation Committee, his recommendations are forwarded to the American Medical Joggers, Boxing, Powerlifting, Cross Country Skiing, Swimming, and Soccer Associations. He is founder and Director of High Technology Fitness Research Institute, which independently examines fitness equipment on the marketplace.
In his capacity with High Technology Fitness Research Institute, Dr. Goldman has published extensively on the topic of sports training modalities, and is considered the expert source for data on health equipment. Major organizations such as the National Sporting Goods Trade Association, and International Racquet and Sports Association refer technical inquiries to the Institute. As a not-for-profit, totally independent objective entity, it has become the ‘Underwriters Laboratory’ for Health & Fitness industry.
As Chairman of the IFBB (Internationally Federation of Body Builders) Doping & Medical Committees of the IFBB Medical and Research Committee, the sixth largest sports federation in the world, he is in charge of sport-drug control for the athletes in 134 countries around the globe. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer for the federation.
Dr. Goldman is founder and Chairman of the Board of Elite Sportmedicine Publications Inc., and serves as one of the Board of Directors for ‘Athletes Against Drugs’ (AAD), an organization whose mission is “ leveraging national and local athletes, celebrities, and corporate leaders to educate youth to make healthy life decisions”. His plans for the future are to further explore sports-science clinical research, and continue as a medical educator, author and lecturer.
